May 6th through May 12th

May 6th through May 12th Monday and Tuesday while Chris was at work, I worked on the stairs and a few more of the items on Charlotte’s list of things she wants fixed or changed at her house.  Wednesday Chris had a Continuing Education class and I went and got my permanent crown cemented in.  In the afternoon we went to our new painting class at the Petersen Art Center in Salt Lake.  I worked on Xela’s portrait and Chris did a landscape.  She can have fun and experiment and I am grinding away at trying to finish 3 of the grandkids that I started in Guatemala.

Mom"s landscape.
I changed the color of her lips and worked on some highlights and shadows.

After our lesson we went shopping at Costco.  Thursday I put up some wood trim in Charlotte's entryway.

In the afternoon, I worked on our outside stairs.  Mom went to Abby’s kindergarten performance and then to Ellie’s play at her school.  In the evening,we went to Tilly’s dance performance and then to dinner with Charlotte’s family.  Tilly chose to go to Arctic Circle for dinner.

Friday I had to go and buy more pavers for the stairs.  It is taking a long time to build them because I am drilling holes and putting 2 short pieces of rebar between each paver on the outside along with masonry adhesive.  They are not going to move.

The stairs are still a work in progress.

Saturday morning early we went down to the Recreation Center and watched John B. swim the first leg of  a mini triathlon he was doing.

John B. is ready for his swim.  He placed 1st in his age group and 10th overall.  He felt good about his performance since he did not train at all for this triathlon.

We then went and had a nice day at the temple.  After our shift, we went and saw “Avengers End Game.”  Mom felt like we had to see it in order to be able to talk to our grandchildren.  Sunday we went to our sacrament meeting and then went to Charlotte’s sacrament meeting where we listened to Evan and 5 other youth talk about their mothers.  It was a very good meeting and they all did a great job.  Especially Even talk’s was sweet. In the afternoon, I barbequed the meat and some pineapple for our monthly family dinner.  We so enjoyed being together at Kate’s house for dinner and a lot of sitting around and talking.  We always miss Ginny and Sam and the girls, so mom called Ginny after dinner and had a long talk.  It was a great week.

After diner at Kate's home.

What did you think of Eng Game. How many times did you have to use the restroom in those 3 hours? I went twice.
