May 20th through May 26th

May 20th through May 26th: Monday when I went out to the new parking pad, I found that during the night one of the aspen trees had been blown over and it was lying on the new concrete pad.  I had been worried about this tree because we had to cut some of its roots in order to put in the pad and the retaining wall.  It was really the next door neighbor’s tree.  Jesse, our next door neighbor was out changing a tire on his son’s car and he said he would help me cut up the tree as soon as he got his son off to school.  So I started loading up my truck with the leftover sand that we did not use.  We then cut up the tree and loaded it on to the truck.  I made a trip to the dump.

The top cap installed.
Mom went to work and when I got back from the dump I installed the top cap to the new retaining wall.  Tuesday, first thing, I loaded up the truck with another load of sand and road base and then I went to Charlotte’s house and started the installation of her new vinyl floor.  Mom went to work.  I got about half of the hall and half of the front room done.
This is the second load of left over sand and road base.

Every piece in the hall had to be cut to fit.
The front room ready for new flooring.
Alex, Charlotte, and their dog Rico with half of the front room installed.
Wednesday Mom went to Tilly's graduation from preschool while I worked on the installation of floor.

I quit at noon and then Chris and I went to our painting class.  After the painting class I took the load of sand and road base to the dump.
I am calling Xela done.
I also worked on Stanford.
Thursday morning I loaded the truck with dirt I had dug up from the installation of the stairs and went to the dump.
This is the third load for the dump, dirt and rocks from the stairs.
I then finished the installation of Charlotte’s new floor and also installed new baseboards. The herringbone pattern took much more time to install, but it looks good and Alex and Charlotte like their new floor.
The hall is finished except for two transition pieces.
Floor done and the baseboard installed.
In the evening we went to Kimball's fourth grade end of the year performance at his elementary school.

Friday Mom and I worked on installing sod around the new sidewalk to our apartment and cleaning up from all the work we have been doing outside.  Mom substituted at the temple Friday afternoon and evening.
New sod installed around the new sidewalk.
More new sod.
There is room for two cars now.
Saturday John and Moose loaded up the last of the dirt from the stairs and the new sidewalk and made a trip to the dump.  Mom and I did our last Saturday shift at the temple.  We are changing our shift from Saturdays to Wednesday mornings.  When I got home from the temple John and his son, Moose, helped me install 8 new can lights in John and Jill’s bedroom.  Now they will start to move things from the main floor to their bedroom upstairs, so we can start the remodel of the main floor.
John got the job of cutting the sheetrock for the new can lights in his bedroom.
The googles really did do their job.
8 new can lights and one patch.
I had to stop work at 6:00pm in order to get ready to go the play, “Under the Sea,” that Ellie was performing in.  It was fun to see her sing and dance.

Sunday after church we met our kids and grandkids at the Salt Lake Cemetery to pay our respects to my mom and dad and many of our Badger ancestors.  We even found the graves of Chris’ great-great-grandfather and her great-grandfather and great-grandmother.

Mom at the headstone of her great-great-grandfather and his son and his son's wife.
We then drove to the Murray Cemetery to visit the grave of Chris’ parents.

Having fun with these two cuties at the Murray Cemetery.
We then went to Charlotte’s house for Sunday dinner.  We had a productive week and enjoyed being with our posterity.  We are so thankful for the many blessings we enjoy.  We continue to feel that we don’t deserve the many blessing we receive each day.  This proves that God is truly good.
