February 8th through February 14th

February 8th through February 14th:  Monday we did the usual P-day stuff. Blog, shopping and laundry, or at least mom did laundry.  Tuesday we were off shift and I went over and prepared my agenda for presidency meeting and then did initiatory.  Finished the day with hours of Family History and I found over 100 names.  Wednesday we had the early shift and were at the temple at 6:00 am. Brother Edgardo Carbajal from the temple department arrived and he will be here for a 3 day visit and review of how we are doing.  We started our presidency meeting at 9:30am and finished meetings with him about 5:00pm.  We went home for an hour and then took Brother Carbajal to dinner.  Brother Abadillo, the temple recorder and his wife and the Rosados joined us.  Brother Carbajal was the recorder here in 2000 and we went to his favorite restaurant, El Portal del Angel.  It is on the hill just east of us and had the most amazing view of the city.  We got home about 8:00pm.  That made for a long day, 14 hours.

View of the city as the sun was setting.
Our dinner companions, L to R, President Rodado, Brother Abadillo, Mom, Sister Abadillo, Sister Rosado, and Brother Cabajal.
The restaurant was lovely.

Thursday we started meetings at 8:00am and then we did our shift till 9:30pm, which made for another long day.  Friday we had meetings again until noon and then we had a lunch with all the employees who work for the temple department.  Brother Carbajal asked me to speak to all the employees.

These are really good people and make my job easy.
We have 3 stake presidents, a district president and an area seventy who are temple employees.

The visit from Brother Carbajal went well and we feel that he felt like we were doing a good job.  Mom spent the week worrying about his visit and I was more laid back and easy going about it, which makes mom more stressed.  She says if I worried more, she could worry less.  We had a lazy afternoon and I got a nap.  Saturday we got up at 3:00am and did the morning shift.  We went to dinner in the evening with Elder and Sister Province and their daughter and son-in-law who are staying with us.  Sunday we left for our stake conference assignment at 6:30am.  We spoke at two sessions of the Esperanza stake, one at 8:00am and one at 11:00am.

We got home a few minutes before 2:00pm and I hurried and made gravy.  We had all the temple missionaries over for a Valentine’s dinner.  It was pot luck and we provided a pork roast.  We had a nice dinner and told funny wedding and reception stories.  We left at 4:30pm to go and speak at a fireside for young men and women.  We got home at 7:30pm.  We were wiped out and went to bed at 8:00pm.  I only slept till 3:30am and am now writing the bog.  It was a busy week, but filled with lots of great experiences and memories.
