August 25th through August 31st

August 25th through August 31st: Monday, we went on our walk to Home Depot again.  Third week in a row we have gone to there for our walk.  It opens at 7:00am.  Only Walmart opens that early, everything else is around 9:00am.  I got to buy some wire.  When we got home, I used the wire to fix the broken plastic that slides onto the metal post that operates the gas.  It worked just as planned.  I feel so useful being able to fix something.  I then made cinnamon rolls.  This is becoming one of my daily food groups all by itself.  We then went to lunch and did some shopping with the Atkinsons.  It was a fun P-day except for all the dishes.

Monday's labor of love.  2 of these in the microwave for 60 seconds is the best way to start the day.  Even if it is  5:30am.

Tuesdays are all the same, prepare and have presidency meeting from 8:00am till about 2:00pm, then lunch and then back to the temple till about 7:30pm.  We did take the sewing machine downtown to get tuned up during our lunch break.  Wednesdays are all about the same also, we work the morning shift from 8:00am till 1:30pm, then have lunch (I cooked sweet and sour chicken) and then back to the temple till 7:00 or 7:30pm.  I usually have most of the office work caught up by the end of Wednesday.  Thursday, I start at 6:00am and meet the buses and organize the groups for entry into the temple. Then I do sealing sessions.  Mom starts about 7:00am and we finish between 2:00 and 3:00pm.  We then went downtown to try and pick up the sewing machine, it wasn’t ready.  Fridays and Saturdays are a repeat of Thursday, sometimes moms has to stay or go back because the secretary doesn’t show up.  But all in all, we are getting into a routine for the week.  We had a group of youth come on Friday from Acapulco. (12 hour bus ride) There were about 45 kids and their leaders.  They stayed all day and did 2 sessions in the baptistery.  Almost all of them had a page to print of a family member.  They were really cute and loved the temple.  What’s not to love?

The youth group and leaders from Acapulco.

President Madsen and his wife came to the temple on Friday with their daughter so she could receive her endowment.  Her fiancé came also.  They will be married in Salt Lake in 2 weeks.  Sister Madsen will be able to go home for the wedding, but President Madsen will have to stay here and watch the missionaries.  Talk about sacrifice.  Sunday, we had Sister Madsen and her daughter and future son-in-law to dinner.  President Madsen is in  Salina Cruz with President Atkinson at a stake conference.   The week went by really fast and we are busy and love it here.  Our service is much different than our mission in Bolivia; we are learning new things and are seeing a different part of the work (office) that goes on in the temple.  I get to seal almost every day and being a sealer is the best part of the work that I do. I know this is a bit lame but since I didn't take a lot of pictures this week, I am including some pictures of some of the interesting plants that we see each morning on our walk.
Aloe Vera plant in flower. Here the name is Sabila.

I think a Bougainvillea.  This is right outside our front door.

Orange rose bush on the sidewalk to President Atkinson's house.

Another Bougainvillea I think.

We don't know the name of this one.

They say this is the flower not a fruit but we don't know the name.

We don't know the name of this one.

Add Carissa Bispinosa.

Carissa Bispinosa bush,  Locals call it ?????
